Adopting a Freegle

Adoption Guidelines for BeFreegle Foundation

At BeFreegle Foundation, we are dedicated to providing a loving home for freegles that come from biomedical research facilities. We want to ensure a smooth transition for our dogs into their forever homes, and we appreciate your interest in adopting one of our furry friends. Before you apply, please take a moment to understand our adoption guidelines:

Understanding the Responsibility:

Adopting one of our dogs is a privilege, but it comes with responsibilities. Our dogs lack real-world experience, and they are essentially like puppies in adult dog bodies.

Commitment to Training:

Be prepared for the commitment to training. This includes addressing accidents in the house and investing time in patiently waiting for them to adapt to walking on a leash.

Time and Patience:

Our dogs need time and patience to adjust to their new environment. The initial four weeks are crucial for them to begin to settle into their new homes.

Assess Household Readiness:

Ensure that everyone in your household is on board with the training process and understands the time and effort it takes to care for our dogs.

Not for Everyone:

If you do not have the time or patience required for our dogs, a freegle may not be the right fit for you. Please consider this before applying.

Consider the Adventure:

Understand that adopting a freegle from BeFreegle Foundation is an adventure. If you are truly ready for this journey, we welcome your application.

Wait Until Ready:

If you realize that you are not currently ready for the commitment, we encourage you to wait until the timing is right. This allows us to focus our attention on applicants who are fully prepared for the adventure of welcoming a freegle into their home.

Thank You for Your Consideration

We appreciate your consideration in adopting a freegle from BeFreegle Foundation. Your understanding of the responsibilities involved ensures a positive experience for both you and our furry friends. If you are ready for this adventure, submit your application, and let’s make a difference in the lives of these special dogs. Thank you for your compassion and commitment to providing loving homes for our freegles.

Our adoption fee is $400, unless otherwise noted.
